The numbers are in, and there's no disputing them.

On average an RDS on their BEST MARKETING DAY will take 10-20% of their orders over the internet. Again, that's on their BEST day.

Sure, a sharp looking web site has a much better chance at taking a web order than a shoddy-looking one. But by and large, the numbers ring true across the board: 10-20%. That means that if you take 50 orders a day in your call center, you can expect to take about 5-10 a day over the internet.

The general opinion is that the customer base at large doesn't think of ordering food on-line that same way they think about ordering a book on-line, or bidding on an auction on-line. Generally customers want to talk to a REAL person over the telephone to discuss their needs and wants surrounding their dining experience.
